Topics Discussed
BRAMPTON SPORTS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION: Councillor Harkirat Singh spoke about being inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame and tied the honour to his years playing cricket. He said, “I think every time I step on the pitch was a memorable moment,” and described the recognition as part of a broader personal and family journey.
IMMIGRATION AND FAMILY REFLECTION: Singh said his parents came to Brampton from Sri Lanka in the 1970s and reflected on what the induction would have meant to them. “My parents when they moved here from Sri Lanka in the ’70s, I don’t think they would have ever expected me to become a cricketer and then being inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame,” he said. He added, “I think they chose a great part of the world to come to and yeah, I’m just proud to be a Bramptonian.”
