Third-Party Election Ad Registration - Third party advertisers - 30 Apr 26

Brampton · April 30, 2026

Want to know more about becoming a thirdparty advertiser? A third party advertiser is an individual, corporation, or trade union that wishes to advertise in support or opposition of a candidate or a yes or no question on the ballot. An advertisement by a third party can be in the form of a broadcast, print, or electronic message. Third party advertising does not include an advertisement made or under the direction of a candidate for which no expense is incurred or when it is transmitted by an individual to its employees, by a corporation to its shareholders, directors, members or employees, or by a trade union to its members or employees. Third party advertising does not include issues-based advertising. So groups that do public outreach can continue their issues-based advocacy work throughout the municipal election period. To become a thirdparty advertiser in the city of Bmpton, the individual representative of the corporation or representative of the trade union must register with the municipality before conducting advertising. To register, an appointment must be booked to file the required paperwork with the clerk's office during the registration period, which begins on May 1st, 2026, and ends on October 23rd, 2026. The required paperwork and online appointment booking service will be available on the city's website at bmpton.ca/bmpton votes closer to the start of the registration period. The city's election website is updated regularly, so be sure to check often for information on thirdparty advertising as well as other election information, including information for candidates and voters. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the city's election team by calling 311 if you're within city limits, by calling 9058742000 if you're outside of the city limits, or emailing your questions to bmpton votes@bmpton.ca.
